Sagittarius Full Moon 9º

09°55′ Sagittarius, Sunday 31 May 2026, 08:45 UTC

There is a Full Moon arriving... I have been feeling this one coming for days. Something is building in us.. pressure behind the sternum and restlessness that is not quite anxiety and not quite excitement but something that lives in the territory between. If you have been feeling that too, this is why. We are already inside it.

This is not an ordinary Full Moon, although every Full Moon carries its own medicine. This one is a Blue Moon, the second Full Moon within calendar month.. moment outside the ordinary rhythm - second illumination where there is usually only one... it asks of us is simply this: pay attention to what is being shown right now. Our ancestors understood this - Blue Moon is a beyond.. breath the year takes outside its usual pattern, and what arrives tends to be the thing we most needed to finally see.

What is being shown to us in this particular sky is breathtaking in its architecture.

The whole sky is being organised around one question.. Moon is opposite Uranus in Gemini, trine Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and sextile Pluto in Aquarius. Every outer planet pulled into a single coherent living configuration with this one Moon... and when I step back and feel the shape of that, what I sense running through the whole thing like a current is freedom. Freedom as a calling and freedom as the deepest truth this sky is trying to return us to.

I feel this is one of those configurations we will remember feeling. I want to take us through each thread slowly, because each one matters and speaks to a different layer of the same essential question.

Sagittarius: the truth that lands in the body - Full Moon is in Sagittarius, which is the sign of the archer, yes, and more fundamentally the sign of the soul that must know what it is aiming toward before it will release the arrow. Sagittarius rules philosophy and faith.. our need for meaning that sits so deep in us it sometimes masquerades as restlessness or the vague sense that something is missing. What has been building in the dark now arrives as sight as knowing and sensation of finally seeing clearly.

Sagittarius is a fire sign, and it illuminates completely the truth of the matter.. we are being shown all the places where we have been living smaller than we know is true, all those negotiations we have been making between what we want and what we have decided we are allowed to want, the gap between who we are in our private inner knowing and who we are allowing ourselves to be in fabric of our days.

She is not pointing at this to shame us, she is pointing at it because Sagittarius cannot abide pretending, and because the only thing standing between us and the life we can feel but have not yet fully claimed... is the willingness to finally see it plainly. Even if it hurts. We will feel this as a kind of pressure toward honesty or pull in the chest toward something we have been circling but have not yet said out loud, even to ourselves.

Uranus in Gemini: the lightning in the opposition - across in opposition, is Uranusnewly arrived in Gemini... this is where the electricity in this Full Moon lives. Geminiand Sagittarius are the axis of mind and meaning, the story we tell ourselves about reality and the truth that reality keeps trying to show us. Uranus in Gemini is the great disruptor of fixed narratives, the force that walks into the architecture of how we think and speak and how we have been constructing meaning from our shared experience, and... rewires it.

Uranus opposing Sagittarius Moon is the lightning bolt between two poles, and what moves through that bolt is revelation. And Uranus is not the gentle one.. this is thekind of impact where the screen goes blank and the old version of the story simply no longer loads. The narrative that has been keeping us in place that says we are not ready or not permitted or not safe enough to want what we want... Uranus in Gemini is in the business of making that story suddenly and very unmistakably, obsolete.

I feel this will land differently for each of us, and yet the quality of the feeling will be recognisable across all of us... something like the moment a window opens in a room that has been closed too long. Not comfortable, although deeply necessary, and the extraordinary thing about this sky is that the disruption is held and supported by what comes next.

Saturn and Neptune in Aries: this trine turns revelation into something realSaturnand Neptune, both currently moving through Aries... and this conjunction is itself one of the defining astrological events of our era, a once-in-a-generation meeting of discipline and dream in the territory of the self. Saturn in Aries is the force that says: build the self that can hold what you knowNeptune in Aries is the force that says: allow yourself to dissolve far enough that something more true can take shape.

Together, in Aries, they are doing the slow sacred work of asking us to become what we believe rather than simply tending to the vision from a safe distance, and at this Full Moon our Sagittarius Moon reaches them in a trine, which in astrology is the aspect of flow and openness and the door already standing unlatched. What this means in the body of our lived experience is that whatever truth is surfacing tonight.. the ground is there to receive it. Saturn provides the structure. Neptune provides the vision. Aries provides the courage that begins before it feels ready.

We do not have to have it all figured out. We just have to be willing to let what is true be true.

Pluto in Aquarius is the depth beneath the wholePluto in Aquarius, receiving this Full Moon in a sextile, aspect of latent possibility and open invitation, and I feel his presence in this configuration as a kind of bass note running beneath everything else. Pluto is the slow deep force of transformation at the root level, and in Aquarius he is doing that work collectively, reorganising the architecture of how we understand systems, belonging and what it means to be a soul living inside a civilisation that is changing faster than most of us can process.

What he is reminding us of tonight is that what is being asked of us personally is not separate from what is being asked collectively. The freedom we claim honestly, embodied fully, lived without apology... is collective medicine.

The soul who stops performing a smaller life contributes something powerful to the evolution of the whole. Pluto in Aquarius wants our liberation to be structural, not symbolic. To actually change the ground we stand on, not merely the story we tell about it. And I believe, genuinely, that when we each do this work and answer this particular calling honestly, something shifts in the fabric of what is possible for all of us. FREEDOM.

I want to share a layer that makes this Full Moon deeply personal for me because I think it will resonate for many of you too, although perhaps in different places in your own charts.

This Full Moon falls within a few degrees of my own natal Black Moon Lilith at 13° Sagittarius... and I feel this. I have been feeling it all week, particular quality of something long-exiled moving toward the surface... insistently. The way a truth does when it has been patient for long enough and the light has finally arrived.

Black Moon Lilith is an astronomical point, the lunar apogee, the place in the Moon’s orbit where she swings furthest from the Earth. In astrology she carries the energy of everything that has been exiled, was too much, too wild, too knowing, too free to be permitted within the sanctioned boundaries of whatever system we were born into. She is the part of us that was told to make herself smaller and refused, although the refusal cost something. She is the wisdom that lives in the wound of having been cast out for knowing too nmuch or wanting too freely or simply being too much.

Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius is the exile of truth itself. The part of us that was punished for saying what we saw and refusing the comfortable lie, insisting that meaning matters and that a life without it is not one i am willing to keep negotiating with. She is the philosopher who was told to sit down and seeker who was told her seeking was dangerous. My soul that knew what freedom tasted like and was made to feel that wanting it was ungrateful or irresponsible.

As I write this, I can feel this transit moving through my own life in a very tangible way. Over the last few days, and especially today, I have found myself standing at the edge of a realisation that feels both heartbreaking and liberating. There are people I love deeply, people who have been important parts of my story, and yet I can see more clearly than ever where I have been trying to earn what should never have required earning in the first place…respect, consideration. Being listened to and being seen.

What has surprised me is that this clarity is not arriving as anger, I feel it more like dignity returning. I recognise that my generosity is sacred and that it was never meant to be exchanged for belonging. I can appreciate the good that people have brought into my life and still acknowledge the places where they cannot meet me. I can love someone and stop abandoning myself in the process. There is so much grief in that. also tenderness. And beyond that there is also an immense sense of freedom.

This is deeply connected to Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius. The part of me that spent years making herself smaller, giving more, understanding more, waiting longer, hoping that eventually she would be welcomed fully, is reaching the end of her contract. What is emerging in her place is not harder, colder or less loving. It is simply a woman who knows her own worth and no longer negotiates with it. As this Blue Moon approaches, I find myself returning to myself a little more with every breath, and that feels like the truest form of liberation I can imagine.

And I wonder how many of you reading this carry something similar... a Lilith in Sagittarius, truth that was silenced, freedom that was labelled dangerous, seeking that was made to feel like too much, or simply the long exhaustion of giving more than you ever received back. If you do... this Blue Moon is for you too. She is being called home tonight.

What freedom actually means in this sky -I want to stay here with you for a moment because I think we sometimes reach for the word freedom and empty it of its weight without meaning to. We use it to mean escape, or relief, or the dissolution of something uncomfortable, and this sky, with the depth it carries, is asking for something far older and far more demanding than that from us.

Freedom, in the deepest archetypal sense, is the alignment between who we actually are and how we are actually living. It is the end of the internal negotiation where one part of us knows the truth and another part keeps constructing reasons why the truth cannot be acted upon.

Where does 9° Sagittarius fall in your natal chart? That is where this landing is most personal for you. In the second house, a truth about worth and resource that can no longer be avoided. In the seventh, clarity about what you actually need from partnership and what you have been tolerating instead. In tenth, the calling that has been waiting for you to stop apologising for it. In the first, the self... simply, fully, finally met.

Love you xx
