The Return of the Uncaged Heart - Leo Solar Eclipse 20º
I had so many dreams last night and woke up in tears.. it ´s always a sign my heart is processing hurt, healing and I needed to be slower and much more gentle with myself this morning. The Eclipse Season is HERE my loves.
There is reason eclipse seasons can feel so different from our regular New Moons. I often think of eclipses as destined corridors, accelerators in the timeline. A regular New Moon gives us a monthly moment to plant, begin and consciously work with a new cycle. But changes initiated around an eclipse can unfold over the following six months, sometimes longer, and they tend to move us through doors we may not have consciously chosen to open yet. Things can accelerate.. people can enter or leave. Things are being eclipsed in and out of our lives.
Circumstances can shift and something that has been building suddenly has somewhere to go. It is not always about dramatic external events; sometimes the biggest eclipse change is an internal knowing that alters the direction of your life. This is why I don’t think we need to rush to define what this eclipse is “bringing.” We are entering a corridor, not completing a chapter today. The next six months will show us what this seed was really carrying.
And there is an important detail here: this is a South Node eclipse. The eclipse is at 20° Leo, close to the transiting South Node in Leo, with the North Node now in Aquarius. Yes, something new is beginning, but there is something we are being asked to release first.. an old Leo story that has reached the end of its usefulness.
Leo is the part of us that wants to express, make something because something inside is ALIVE. It wants to laugh, play, create, be witnessed, be proud of what it has made. But the South Node in Leo asks us to look at where that beautiful creative life force has become entangled with needing to be seen and validated. Where have we learned to measure our worth through attention?
This is about releasing the old version of Leo we had to become in order to survive.
Because so many of us learned very early that being fully expressive could come with consequences. We learned to read the room..when to quieten down.. when something we were excited about might be “too much.” We learned that being seen also meant being judged. And so we became very good at watching ourselves. And I am not sure about you but I feel tired to need to constantlly monitor my light and magic or try to translate ot to be more palatable for those around me. TIRED. And I feel there is another part waking up in us that wants to ROAR, nurture and protect what is truly us.. that unique divine magical essence we carry in us. It was never meant to be tempered. I feel this is
This is why I think this eclipse may touch something much deeper than simply confidence or visibility. It asks us to notice where we have been living slightly outside ourselves, looking back at ourselves through the imagined eyes of other people. Before I speak, how will this land?
There is a whole life that can be lived inside those questions.
And this is where Mercury in Leo opposite Pluto retrograde in Aquarius brings the conversation right to the surface. Mercury is our voice, but Pluto asks us to look at what has been living underneath the voice. Whose words are we still carrying? Whose judgement are we anticipating? How much of what we believe about ourselves was formed through other people’s responses to us?
Sometimes we don’t realise how much we have adapted until we suddenly don’t want to anymore.
Maybe you find yourself wanting to say something without explaining it to death and you notice that the thing you thought you “should” want doesn’t actually feel like yours.
These moments can be surprisingly quiet. They don’t always look like transformation… sometimes it is simply sitting there with your coffee and realising, I don’t actually want to do this anymore. Or I think I have been pretending this is okay, I actually really want this.
And that last one can be the most confronting because wanting something makes us vulnerable. The moment we admit what we want, we also have to meet everything we have learned about whether we are allowed to have it.
This is where the South Node in Leo becomes so interesting. We may be releasing the need to perform our worth through our creativity, appearance or the reactions we receive. We may be releasing an old identity that says, If I can just be impressive enough, lovable, desirable enough, then I will finally feel secure in who I am.
But the North Node in Aquarius is pointing somewhere different.. a self that doesn’t need to constantly be the centre of the room to know it belongs in the room. Your authenticity rather than applause… life that is built around participating in something meaningful because we already know that we do.
Mercury has beautiful support today, with its trine to Neptune retrograde in Aries and sextile to Uranus in Gemini. The mind has somewhere to go beyond the old story. You might hear yourself say something and realise that you believe it now. That is often how change begins.. with a sentence that feels true in your mouth.
There is something softer happening through Venus in Libra trine Uranus in Gemini, too. This brings freedom into the places where we connect with other people. It can show us where we have confused harmony with keeping everyone comfortable. But relationships are allowed to evolve. and you are definitely allowed to evolve inside them.
Perhaps that is one of the deeper gifts of this eclipse.. To stop performing our own life. What part of yourself has been waiting for permission that is never going to arrive from outside?
Because there is a little piece of us that knows how to create before it knows how to perform. We knew this as children… we made things because we wanted to make them and danced around the room. We told stories.. became someone else for five minutes. We didn’t stop halfway through to wonder whether anybody would think it was good.
Then life happened and we learned to measure.
This eclipse feels like an invitation to remember something underneath all that measuring, while also releasing the part that needs the measuring to tell us who we are.
Your life is not an audition and we don’t have to turn every desire into a business, every creative impulse into something useful. Some things can simply bring you alive.
And under a South Node eclipse, perhaps some of what leaves is an identity you have outgrown but kept carrying because other people know you by that name. Sometimes release feels like grief and sometimes.. relief. For me it´s often both.
Where does 20° Leo fall in your natal chart? That house shows you where this eclipse is beginning a new cycle through release and renewal, and where you may be asked to loosen your attachment to an old way of seeking validation. And wherever Aquariusfalls, the North Node is pointing toward the new territory.. way forward through greater authenticity and freedom.
Freedom, love and abundance have always been our birthright, we just forgot.. now we are coming home to our hearts.
Feel the angels puring love into your heart, healing. Trust the deto
urs and pauses. You are forvever loved and guided, never alone. Trust the gentle wisdom of your heart.
Love you always xx
