These past weeks have been a whirlwind.. intense, triggering, exhausting, overwhelming, magical, and everything in between. Eclipse season has a way of shaking us right to the core, unearthing emotions we thought we had already healed, and opening doors we didn’t even know existed. If you’ve felt like you’ve been riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt, know you’re not alone. We’re in this together, moving through endings and beginnings, grief and renewal, collapse and rebirth.
We are moving through a cosmic threshold. The first eclipse of this season, the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 15° Pisces, was a washing away, an unraveling, a dissolving of illusions, attachments, and old patterns. It asked you to release control and allow the tides of life to sweep through.
Now, the second eclipse arrives: a New Moon Solar Eclipse at 29° Virgo, exact this Sunday. And if you’ve been feeling like life is a complete rollercoaster lately, you’re not wrong. This isn’t just “a little shift.” It’s endings, beginnings, grief, and breakthroughs all at once. Think of it as the universe hitting a reset button you didn’t exactly ask for, but probably needed.
This New Moon is positioned at the anaretic degree, it is a karmic culmination.. a final call to release outdated structures, identities, and habits before stepping into a new chapter.
The Lunar Nodes: South in Virgo, North in Pisces
Eclipses are portals connected to the Moon’s Nodes, the cosmic compass of destiny. Right now, the South Node is in Virgo and the North Node is in Pisces.
The Virgo South Node carries the energy of over-giving, perfectionism, control, self-criticism, and “I am only worthy if I serve.” It’s the energy of laboring under invisible rules, of doing, refining, and correcting at the cost of your own spirit. You might be noticing how exhausting it is to live in that loop.
The Pisces North Node invites you into surrender, trust, and spiritual attunement. To let go of micromanaging the universe (because honestly, how has that been working out?) and step instead into compassion, flow, and deep inner knowing.
Eclipses near the Nodes accelerate these patterns. They expose where the South Node energy is no longer sustainable, forcing endings and openings that move you closer to the path of your North Node. This is not just personal, it’s collective, reflecting the tension between over-control and surrender, doing and being, service and devotion.
Virgo Shadow and Archetypal Collapse
Virgo is the archetype of the healer, the meticulous organizer, the one devoted to service. In its highest form, Virgo is sacred work - refining, tending, weaving spirit into matter.
In its shadow, Virgo becomes the giver who forgets themselves, the critic who believes they are never enough, the fixer who mistakes self-worth for productivity.
At 29°, this eclipse forces a collapse of the Virgo shadow identity. It asks:
Where are you over-giving until you’re depleted?
Where are you trying to earn love or approval through usefulness?
Where are you trapped in perfectionism, hiding behind “service” to avoid your own heart?
If this sounds intense, it is!! But collapse is not punishment, it is liberation. It dissolves structures that no longer serve your soul’s evolution, freeing you to align with your true essence.
Saturn in Pisces: Grief, Release, and Sacred Responsibility
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. This New Moon isn’t happening in a vacuum.. it’s opposing Saturn retrograde at 28° Pisces, a rare alignment we won’t see again in our lifetimes.
Saturn is like that strict but weirdly wise teacher who gives you a pop quiz right when you thought class was over. In Pisces, Saturn is dissolving structures that were never real to begin with. Think of it as cosmic quality control: “This identity? Not sustainable. This coping mechanism? Time’s up.”
This is grief energy at a cosmic level. The grief of old patterns, old selves, old ways of being that cannot continue. The grief of collapsed illusions and collapsed identities.
But grief here is also sacred medicine. It signals that you are ready to release what no longer serves and to reclaim your life’s foundation.
Endings are not empty..they are the fertile soil from which new beginnings rooted in authenticity, compassion, and alignment can emerge.
Equinox and Mars in Scorpio: Balance and Transformation
Just days after the eclipse, on September 22nd, the Sun enters Libra at the Equinox.. a cosmic pivot of balance, when day and night are equal. If the eclipse feels like chaos, the Equinox is like a cosmic breath, a reminder that equilibrium always returns, even after the storm.
And on the same day, Mars enters Scorpio, and the energy sharpens. Where Libra weighs the scales, Scorpio dives into the depths and says: “Enough debating, let’s transform.” This is raw, penetrating energy.. the courage to face what’s been hidden and to rise stronger. After collapse, the fire of transformation rises.
